The E Class Lifeboat - even more specs

This view of the E class shows the A-frame which carries the self-righting inflation bag with two  CO2 bottles.

The frame also supports two VHF aerials, GPS aerial, twin blue strobe lights, radar dome and navlights.

Below the frame is an acoustically insulated engine box where the stretcher is normally carried.

The absence of a transom permits easy recovery of casualties in stretchers and even small craft.

This close up of the stern shows the towing line reel and the hatch covers to access the jet drive impellors.

Just above the waterline to the right of the exhaust flap is the pull ring to inflate the self-righting bag.

The "buckets" that divert the water jet to produce reverse thrust can be seen just below the end of the deck.

There is a open area in front of the console where casualties can be treated.

This picture shows the numerous hand holds and non-slip surfacing on the deck and ribs. The anchor is stored in the bow area.

There are points to plug in searchlights and helmet intercoms on both sides of the boat.
